The Conjunction (العَطْفُ)

The Construction (العَطْفُ) is the connection between the conjoined element (المَعْطُوفُ) and the element it is conjoined to (المَعْطُوفُ عَلَيْهِ) using one of the particles of conjunction: و ف أو أم ثم بل حتى لكن لا

Example

أَتَى مُـحَمَّــدٌ ثُمَّ حامــدٌ Muhammad arrived, then Hamid

The conjoined element (المَعْطُوفُ) takes the same grammatical case (الِإعْرَاب) as the element it is conjoined to (المَعْطُوفُ عَلَيْهِ)

Here, the word حَامِدٌ takes the same grammatical case (الرفع) as مُحَمَّدٌ.

Examples

نَضَجَ الـخَوْخُ والعِنَــبُ The apricots and grapes ripened

دَخَلَ الأُسْتَاذُ والـمُفَتِّــشُ الفَصْلَ The teacher and the inspector entered the classroom

التلميذُ الـمُجْتَـهِدُ يَـهْتَـمُّ بِــدُرُوسِــهِ حَتَّى السَّـهْــلِ مِنها The diligent student pays attention to his lessons, even the easiest ones
