The passive participle (اِسْمُ المَفْعُولِ)

Created about 5 hours ago

The Passive Participle (اِسْمُ المَفْعُولِ) is a special word in Arabic that describes a person or thing after an action has been done to them.

  1. It tells you what received the action.
  2. Simple Analogy: Think of it as the "victim" or "target" of the verb's action.

In English, these are like adjectives that often end in -ed or -en, such as broken, written, or cooked.

خَلَقَ مَـخْلُوقٌ Created (It was created)
غَسَـلَ مَغْسُولٌ Washed (It was washed)
وَجَـدَ مَوْجُودٌ Written (It was written)

The Logical Connection: Passive Voice Verb

The Passive Participle (اِسْمُ المَفْعُولِ) is strongly related in meaning to the Passive Voice Verb (الفِعْلُ لِلمَجْهُول)

The Passive Voice Verb already focuses on the receiver of the action (the subject is unknown or hidden). Therefore, it seems more logical to derive the Passive Participle directly from this form, although it is not the only way.
