Vowel points: dictionary-free methods

In order to form a present tense verb from a past tense verb, it is necessary to know the vowel pointing of the middle letter, which we find from the dictionary (see the previous lesson).

However, sometimes there is a certain relationship between the past tense verb and the vowel pointing of the present tense.

There are six such relationships in total, which will be useful to know

If there is a ุงู„ูุชุญุฉ in the past tense, then there may be a ุงู„ุถู…ุฉ in the present tense.

ูƒูŽู€ู€ุชูŽู€ู€ุจูŽ - ูŠูŽู€ูƒู’ู€ู€ุชูู€ู€ุจู

This is another rule about the relationship between past and present tense verb forms in Arabic, similar to the previous one. If there is a ุงู„ููŽุชู’ุญูŽุฉ in the past tense, then there may be a ุงู„ูƒูŽุณู’ุฑูŽุฉ in the present tense

ุฌูŽู€ู€ู„ูŽู€ู€ุณูŽ - ูŠูŽู€ุฌู’ู€ู€ู„ูู€ู€ุณู

If the middle or final letter is a guttural letter (ุง ุก ู‡ู€ ุน ุบ ุญ ุฎ), then there is a high probability of the following pattern

ุฐูŽู‡ูŽู€ู€ุจูŽ - ูŠูŽู€ู€ุฐู’ู‡ูŽู€ู€ุจู

If there is a ุงู„ูƒูŽุณู’ุฑูŽุฉ in the past tense, then in the present tense there is almost always a ุงู„ููŽุชู’ุญูŽุฉ.

ุดูŽู€ู€ุฑูุจูŽ - ูŠูŽู€ุดู’ู€ู€ู€ุฑูŽุจู

If there is a ุงู„ุถูŽู‘ู…ูŽู‘ุฉ in the past tense, then in the present tense there is always a ุงู„ุถูŽู‘ู…ูŽู‘ุฉ

ูƒูŽู€ู€ุซูู€ู€ู€ุฑูŽ - ูŠูŽูƒู’ู€ู€ุซูู€ู€ุฑู

A rare verb that can be considered an exception
